There are countless Texas Hold’em tournaments held in countries all over the world every year. Players who love Texas Hold’em will even fly to the country where the tournament is held for a large series of games. This shows how popular Texas Hold’em is. You can experience it. The okebet register Texas Hold’em, you will understand the charm of Texas Hold’em.
In 2019, as many as 8,569 people participated in the main event of the WSOP. For popular science, the registration fee for the main event is US$10,000. At the end of the tournament, German poker player “Hossein Ensan” won the championship.
“Pot”: The sum of the chips bet by all players in the game.
There are two ways to win the pot:
At the final showdown, your two hand cards and the five community cards on the table form a larger hand than the other unfolded players.
Use the pressure of betting to force all other players to fold and win the pot.
By the way, I will share the mistakes I often see players make:
“Some players will fold at the end of the show because they feel that their cards are too small to win, so they don’t want to turn over their cards.”
This is a very bad habit.
Because you think your hand is very small, but the opponent’s hand may be smaller than yours. If you fold your cards rashly, you are giving your chips to the opponent for nothing, which is very unwise.
Therefore, it is recommended that no matter how bad your cards are, you can open them at the end to compare cards with the opponent, unless you have seen that the opponent’s card is higher than yours, then it is another matter.
- Fold: Give up your own hand and do not participate in this hand.
When you fold, you can say “fold” or push two cards from your hand to the dealer.
Note, however, that if there are no cards to fold, the hand can be covered with chips or presses.
Because if you check too far away from you and the croupier accidentally takes your hand away, it’s just a fold.
Unless you can clearly say the suit and number of the two hands, it will not save you. - Check: In the case that no one in front of you bets, you do not bet yourself, and let the players behind you act.
When checking, you can say “check” or tap your hand twice on the table.
Some players will tap the table unconsciously while thinking, making the dealer think he is going to check, so be careful not to make this mistake.
The dealer is absolute at the poker table, and all actions are subject to the dealer’s judgment, so please do not do some actions that will make the dealer misunderstand and cause your own losses. - Call: When a player bets in front of you, you take out the same chips as his bet and put it into the pot.
When calling, you can say “call” or put the chips you want to call into the pot.
When there is a bet in front of a player, if only one chip is dropped but not speaking, the dealer will call it as a call.
However, if more than two chips are lost, and the total chip amount is greater than the standard of the raise amount, the dealer will treat it as a raise.
For example, the previous player bet 200, you don’t speak, and you lose 500+100 chips, the dealer will judge it as a raise, even if you get the wrong chips, it will be too late, so please be very careful.
Off topic, there are also players who like to use this method to confuse their opponents. They obviously want to raise, but they lose too many chips, and then they say that they made a mistake.
In such a situation, you don’t need to worry about whether it’s true or false, just follow your original strategy. - Raise: When a player bets in front of you and you want to bet more chips than him, you can raise.
When raising, you can call: “raise”, or call the amount you want to raise, or you can take two or more chips whose total amount is greater than the raise amount and put them into the pot.
But it is recommended to call raise first and let the dealer confirm your intention, otherwise if you make a mistake or miscalculate the raise amount and let the dealer judge you to call, it will not be worth the loss. - All-in (ALL-IN): This is a type of raise, but it is not limited by the minimum raise amount. When it is your turn to bet, you can put all your chips into the pot and declare ALL- IN.
When all-in, you can shout “ALL-IN” or push all your chips into the pot.
It should be noted that some players will put stacks of chips into the pot in sequence when ALL-IN.
If you don’t call ALL-IN in advance, the dealer will judge you to call or raise based on the sum of the first stack of chips, but not ALL-IN.
So if you want to ALL-IN, please do it once.
You might be wondering: if you check at the beginning, can you still call, raise or ALL-IN when someone raises and it’s your turn?
The answer is yes, this action is called a check-raise and is generally used when you have a strong hand and want to make the pot bigger.
However, there are also players who will use this method to make their opponents fold, which is an advanced style of play, and we will discuss it later when there is a chance.
When all players who have not folded have performed their actions, the next flop comes.
Flop betting stage (flop)
After entering the flop, the dealer will first cover the top card of the stack on the table, and then start from the second card of the stack, and deal three cards to the table as community cards.
The purpose of folding a card first is to prevent cheating situations, such as someone peeking at the top card and taking action in their favor before the flop.
After seeing the three community cards, bet clockwise from the small blind. Players can decide what action to perform based on the combination of their hand and community cards.
When all players who have not folded have completed their actions, the turn is next.
Turn betting stage (turn)
After entering the turn, the croupier will first cover the top card on the table, then open the lower card as a public card and place it next to the three public cards.
So far, there will be four community cards on the table.
After seeing the fourth communal card, bet clockwise from the small blind, and the player can decide the action to be performed according to the combination of his hand and the communal card.
When all players who have not folded have performed their actions, the next card is the river.
River betting stage (river)
After entering the river, the croupier will first cover the top card on the table, then open the bottom card as a public card and place it next to the four public cards.
So far, there will be five community cards on the table.
After seeing the fifth community card, bet clockwise from the small blind. Players can decide what action to perform based on the combination of their hand and community cards.
After all players have performed their actions, if there is only one player who has not folded, this player will win the prize pool.
If there are multiple players who have not folded, each player needs to show their cards, and the player with the largest hand combined with the five community cards on the table will win the prize pool.
If there are multiple players with the same hand size, the pot is divided equally, also known as [chop].
Move the Button position
Pass the Delear Button clockwise to the next player to continue a new hand.
Here I just briefly introduce the complete process of a hand, the importance of position, the choice of each action, the opening range and other information, and I will write an article to share with you later.
